In this workshop students have brought feelings,
emotions and opinions, which are the central theme of abstract art, closer to
short-sighted and blind individuals via tactile images. Reflecting on the task
and theme, they have put themselves in a different position and through that
perspective have become more sensible to the needs of others.
In the first part of the workshop the students are
introduced to the task through reproduction of paintings of abstract artists
(Jackson Pollock, Vasilij Kandinski, Piet Mondrian, Oton Gliha, Edo Murtić…) so
through a two-dimensional abstract picture students need to transform
reproduction into a different shape which can be perceived by blind and
short-sighted individuals.
This workshops teaches students about togetherness,
sharing, groupwork, thus creating a mutual connection, allow for a high-quality
and healthier environment in which individuals have the possiblity to develop
themselves in a personal and creative sense.
